Internet Auctions like Ebay
I am a "baby boomer" (born in 1946) who has four generations of "stuff" in storage. Ebay is the obvious place to sell it, but the Ebay business model drives me crazy. Preparing items for listing on Ebay is so much work I don't see how anyone can sell items for less than $25 and make a profit. Yet I don't want to give away everything that would sell for less than that. I also know my wife likes to buy inexpensive things, so there is a market for them. This site is my attempt to get organized for efficient and profitable sales.
We registered our first Ebay ID in 1999 and since then have received more than 2,500 positive feedbacks. We have also gotten a few negatives. There were at least 1,500 more auctions where the other party didn't bother with feedback.
I am also a website publisher, used to writing pages with content that is valuable to readers for a long time. This website is my attempt to develop some longterm value from the auction process. It has a unique combination of Blog, Ebay Tutorial, and content.
As I sell the thousands of items we have accumulated I will make a page for each item I plan to sell, am selling, or have sold. I document problems, questions, and answers, I discover in the process. Hopefully, the result will be a website that is helpful to the thousands of others in a similiar situation.
I will be figuring this out as I go along, so the site navigation, layout, and "polish" will not necessarily be complete, but I will do the best I can. I am always open to suggestions, so feel free to write me at
