Six Secrets to Help Sell Your Stuff on eBay! |
|
|
<>As you know, eBay is the web's #1 auction site. This is good, because
you know that buyers flock to the site looking for everything from
electronics to antiques. This can also be bad, because your auction
items can easily get lost in the sea of similar stuff.
If you want your auctions to stand out from the millions listed, you
need to go the extra mile. Here are a few tips to ensure that your item
gets seen, and gets bids:
1) A picture is a must. Digital cameras that are
adequate for listing your eBay items can be purchased for less than
$100. I use Intel's PCPro. Alternatively, you can use a regular film
camera, and ask to have your photos scanned to disk. Most photo shops
will do this for around $6.
2) Tout your item's best features right there in the
title. "1959 Signed Hull Art Vase" will receive more hits than "Pink
Vase, Old" Call further attention to your title with selective use of
caps and emoticons, such as, "Rose Platter @@SHABBY CHIC!!@@".
3) Post your auction at the right time of day. Prices
can really shoot up during those last few fevered minutes of an
auction. If your auction ends at 5:30 am, there may not be anyone
around to increase your price with those important last-minute bids.
4) Always ship promptly. This one's pretty obvious.
5) Leave positive feedback, and encourage your buyer
to do the same. Sellers with higher feedback ratings get more bids.
6) Advertise your future auctions. My signature line
in all my emails reads: Check out my collectibles auctions on eBay:
http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/retro-dame. This gives all of my
auctions much more exposure.
Following these few simple tips will give your eBay auctions the edge they need to stand out from the rest. Happy Selling!
